A 36-year-old man, Ani Chijioke who went to the farm with his wife, has been found dangling from a tree in his farm, with his wife, Ngozi Chijioke’s corpse nearby in a pool of blood. Marks of violence were also discovered all over her. The incident happened at Mgbaleze Isu community in Onicha Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.
According to Vanguard, the deceased and his wife had left for the farm but did not return home, a search party was then sent out by the community, only for them to discover the corpses of the deceased in the farm.
A resident of the community, Chief Sylvanus Ani, revealed that the couple was seen last on their way to the farm.
“They went to the farm and did not return home. At some point, we were disturbed so we informed other villagers, mobilised and went in search of them.
“We finally found the wife, Ngozi , lying dead in a pool of blood with marks of violence all over her body, while Chijioke Ani, was found hanging from a tree,” he said.
The Ebonyi State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP George Okafor, confirmed the incident, saying the man may have killed the wife and hanged himself.
He assured that police would get to the root of the incident, as investigation had commenced.
