Mom Abandons Baby In Park At Night For Seven Hours While Drinking And Touring Different Bars

A 43-year-old mom, Julie Gill, went out for a drink and left her baby daughter strapped into an upturned buggy in a park for seven and a half hours.
The abandoned child, who was not even a year old yet, was discovered in a deserted play area by a dog walker at 7am the next morning, a court heard.

She was tracked down by a police officer and was found to have been out on a drinking spree with a friend.
After touring around bars in Blackpool, the two women parted ways.
But Gill returned home without the child.
Gill pleaded guilty to child neglect and ill treatment when she appeared before Blackpool Magistrates’ Court.

The baby has been taken into social care.
Prosecutor Pam Smith told the hearing: ‘Gill took the baby out with her when she and a companion toured various bars.
‘It was midnight when they parted.Gill was seen going into her home alone leaving her baby abandoned in Watson Road park for some seven and a half hours.’
Steven Townley, defending, said: ‘Gill is full of regret and remorse.The baby is now in the care of social services because of what happened.
‘She had far too much to drink that night on top of medication.
‘She was not fit to look after her own child.’
