Two physically challenged people tie the knot in Oyo State

Two physically disabled people have tied the knot in Oyo State. The couple, Paul Egbezokhai Kadiri and Grace Olufunke Omooba who both belong to home for special people with disabilities, Jesus Kids were joined together as man and wife.

52-year-old Kadiri who is deaf and dumb and his wife Grace, 43, who suffers from Cerebral palsy which makes it difficult for them to communicate effectively were joyous all through the event as they danced effortlessly.

In his sermon titled “God of the able and the hope of the disabled”, Pastor of the ceremony, Ayotunde Adamolekun admonished the couple to ensure that they work together and respect each other.

According to the officiating pastor of the ceremony, Ayotunde Adamolekun,  the groom’s mother has volunteered to live and assist the new couple.

The President of the Centre, Pastor Ololade Adamolekun while commenting on the historic event, which started in 2010, said “I am very happy for this day and I give glory to God.

“Grace prayers all through the years has been for her to get married and am happy that her dream has finally been realized
“She has been living with me for the past 10 years even before we started Jesus kids”, she added.

Speaking on whether Grace would be able to cope with the stress that comes with marriage, she said “In our home, we have a programme where we train them on how to take care of their family, so she’s well trained.

“Based on her condition she can’t learn any trade, but she’s very good with money and I believe she can cope in any house chores”, she added.
