Conjoined twins Jadon and Anias McDonald who were attached together at the head for 13 months have finally been able to look at each other for the first time, one month after doctors separated them.
The pair are still recovering in Montefiore Hospital in the Bronx, New York, after their 27-hour operation..
It is believed that they will be moved to a rehab facility later this week.
Jadon is moving around a lot since the operation and plays with anyone who enters the ward.
However little Anias, who was already struggling before him operation, is having a harder time – but doctors believe he will make a full recovery.
In an emotional Facebook post with a photo of the two together, the boys’ mum Nicole McDonald wrote: ‘Finally reunited. How surreal.”
‘I now realise that I always saw you as separate because seeing you like this is really nothing different to me.
‘When I stand at your bedside, Jadon, it’s almost as if Anias is still there. Anias, when I leaned over you you protected my hair from Jadon. But the view is still the same.
‘This is how I always saw you. I love you so much. Now it’s time to step forward into the new chapter of our life.
‘I’m ready to fight and I know you are too.’
