A Kenyan woman was paraded on the streets of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania after she was allegedly caught stealing from a shopping mall.
According to Kenyans, the woman identified as Josephine Atwara was accused of stealing two handbags from Milimani City, Tanzania's largest shopping complex.
In the footage, recorded on Wednesday, Atwara appears to be calm even as locals force her to shout, ‘Mimi ni Mwizi’ (I am a thief ).
She is seen holding a large banner written, ‘Mimi ni Mwizi Kutoka Kenya’ (I am a thief from Kenya).
Reports have it that Atwara was in the habit of stealing goods from the mall and a trap was laid for her after business owners in the shopping complex got fed up with her behaviour.
The lady was later handed over to the police and is set to be arraigned in court.
