Margaret Emefiele, the wife of CBN governor Godwin Emeifiele that was kidnapped on the 29th of September has been freed.
According to Thisday, Emefiele was rescued barely 24 hours after her kidnap, in the early hours of Saturday. Her abductors had demanded a ransom of N1.5billion before her release but she was rescued by a joint operation comprising the Nigerian Armed Forces, the police and local intelligence at the Ugoneki area in Benin City.
She is said to be recuperating at the Delta State Government House, Asaba, before onward movement to an unknown destination.
